2018 Youth Baseball/Softball Umpire
The Chicopee Parks and Recreation Department is looking for umpires for its youth baseball and softball leagues. Experience and knowledge of the sport and umpiring is encouraged, but mandatory training will also be given to those who have been selected and/or not umpired before. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. The department is looking for certified umpires and adults as well for the older grade divisions. The Chicopee Parks Department is accepting applications for the 2018 Summer Season for the following positions:
*Applicants must be 15-1/2 yrs. of age or older by the time you submit your application for all Activity Leader or Bathhouse Attendant Positions.
* Applicants must be 16 yrs. of age or Older by the time you submit your application for all Lifeguard positions.
Aquatics Director: Responsible for overall daily pool operation and staff which includes implementation of maintenance procedures, Ability to conduct in – services and troubleshoot problems. Must have Lifeguard certification/ WSI & CPO Preferred.
Head Guard: Responsible for overall pool operation and staff which includes implementation of maintenance procedures, Learn to Swim program and staff
scheduling. Must have certification in Lifeguard Training Adult, Child & Infant
CPR/AED & First Aid.
Instructor Guard: Responsible for planning and supervision of swim lessons in addition to lifeguard duties. Candidate having WSI certification and/or previous experience teaching lessons. Must have certification in Lifeguard Training Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED & First Aid.
Lifeguard: Responsible for life guarding and assisting in teaching swimming lessons as well as performing maintenance duties in and around the pool area. Must have certification in Lifeguard Training Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED & First Aid.
Bathhouse Attendant: Responsible for daily maintenance of pool and bathhouse facilities, signing in patrons, collection of money, and swimming lessons assistance. Certification in Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED & First Aid. Must have certification prior to start of employment.
Activity Leader: Responsible for daily operation of park and wading/spray pool facilities, including engaging children in games & activities. Cleaning park; reporting any park problems. Certification in Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED & First Aid when applying. Must have certification prior to start of employment.
