The Parks Department is holding an American Red Cross lifeguard certification classes at the Chicopee High School Pool. The classes will run Saturday March 24, 31 and April 7. Classes will be held from (10 AM– 4 PM.). Participants must attend all 3 classes. The Cost is $295/person. This course will include certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and Community First Aid. Participants must be 16 years of age on or before the end of the course.
All participants must take a pre-skills test on the first day of class to be officially enrolled in the course. Register & pay at the Parks Dept.

Western Massachusetts Veteran Service Officers Association (WMVSOA), Springfield Vet Center,and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Team-up with Big Y to reach Veterans inside their community and bring services to their backyard.
The Palmer Department of Veteran Services is excited to announce that the Veteran Service Officers from the Towns of Palmer, Wilbraham, Ware, Ludlow and Belchertown are pleased to join members of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Springfield Vet Center to bring services to local area veterans inside their community and bring services to their backyard.
Information and services on State & Federal Benefits, VA Health Care, Mental Health, and area groups, activities and events are just a few things to expect.
Veterans, Family Members, Loved One’s, Friends of Veterans and Community Members are all encourage to stop by, as the information and services which will be on display will be a great benefit to everyone!
