SWIFT911 Emergency Citizen Alerts

NOTICE: As of August 9, 2016, our new Emergency Alerts system is Swift911™, a SwiftReach product. The new system provides  the same level of service as the old one, at lower costs. All City telephone numbers published on the white or yellow pages were loaded to Swift911™. To add a second telephone number, or opt-in for text or email notifications, please register at our Swift911™ Portal below.
If you only provided an email address when you opted-in under the old system, you will need to register for Swift911™. If you provided a telephone number when you opted-in under the old system, your information was migrated to Swift911™;  you will still need to register on the Swift911™ portal to manage future subscription changes.

In an effort to provide more reliable and effective communications with citizens in a cost-effective way, the City of Chicopee has implemented Swiftreach Networks, Inc. as our emergency notification provider.

Swift911™ is a system designed to make phone calls to specific people or areas in the event of an emergency or for sharing important information.  Several city departments including Public Works, Chicopee Electric,  DPW Water, and others, will use this system to notify citizens by phone of information regarding you or your property. The system can make thousands of calls in a minute to convey vital information. These messages may include information on floods, fires, water emergencies, road closures, missing persons, evacuation orders, and weather emergencies.

The Swiftreach Network Data has been provided by a third party data provider and only includes listed phone numbers in the City of Chicopee, and those of people that opted-in under our former emergency notification system. Chicopee Electric has uploaded a list of their customer contacts for their own use. It is important for residents and business owners to provide contact information such as unlisted, unpublished or cell phone numbers via our portal. Accurate numbers in the database help to ensure emergency information will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner.

If you would like to provide an alternate number other than your home number you may also do so. The alternate phone number would be called if your primary phone number is not answered by a person or answering machine.

You will only receive emails or text messages if you opted-in for those options. Your information will not be provided to any outside agencies or companies.

To register or update your information please visit the Swift911 Portal. You might also want to download the Mobile Portal app to manage your subscription directly from your mobile device.
