The center has a free medical equipment loan program. Walkers, wheelchairs, canes, tub benches, commodes, and other adaptive equipment are available for loan. Inventory comes in and out, so sometimes an item is temporarily unavailable.
Donations of equipment are accepted, but must be clean and in good condition. Program Assistant Diane Gay manages the loan program and can be reached at 534-3698, ext. 105.
The Wellness Health Center has new expanded hours and welcomes Dianne Copeland, R.N., to RiverMills. She joins Helen Biglin, R.N. Both nurses are available for free, one-on-one consultations, such as blood pressure checks. Older adults are served on a first come, first serve basis.
This service is funded jointly through the city and the Department of Elder Affairs.
