The following agencies offer Homeless Assistance. We encourage you to reach out directly to these agencies as the programs and resources frequently change.

CHD Diversion, Shelter, and Housing Program is a non-profit organization, delivers a broad array of critical social and mental health services to over 18,000 people each year right here in western Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Loreto House – Transitional Housing/Homeless Men- covers all utilities, offers free cable television in common areas, access to resources including medical care, addiction support services, therapy with a licensed clinical social worker, housing and employment services and educational opportunities.

Department of Transitional Assistance- offers different services such as SNAP benefits (food stamps), economic assistance (cash benefits), and employment training resources for DTA clients.

New England Farm Workers Council operates two family homeless shelters in Hampden County for Emergency Assistance eligible families. To be considered eligible for family shelter the head of household must first apply at their local Department of Transitional Assistance office. DHCD will then determine eligibility for Emergency Assistance, and if determined eligible, refer the family to shelter.
