(Flashlight Walk at 8:30P)
Sarah Jane Sherman Park
(off of Chicopee Street)
This year’s Chicopee National Night Out event will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022. Chicopee’s Night Out is held on the first Monday of August (as opposed to the first Tuesday), due to Chicopee City Councilors' regularly scheduled Tuesday meetings. The Chicopee National Night Out Committee includes Chicopee Police, Chicopee Fire, the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club, Chicopee Housing Authority, Chicopee Emergency Management, Chicopee Parks Department, Chicopee DPW, Chicopee Public Library, Chicopee City Council, and Chicopee Mayor’s Office.
The NNO activities are bounce houses, rock wall, balloon art, music, and dance shows, Emergency Management drone demonstrations, Police and Fire vehicle exhibits as well as a few other big-truck visitors, and an obstacle course. We invite the community to come and meet many of our officers from the SRT, K9 Unit, Bike & Motorcycle, and C-3 police departments. Returning to this year's event is the Hampden County Sherriff’s Department with their horses, the Mass State Police Community Action Team, and weather permitting the Mass State Police Air Wing. The Chicopee City Councilors and Chicopee Fresh will be serving up hotdogs, as well as other delicious treats like cupcakes, ice cream, and popcorn balls!
This community event has been ongoing for the past 28 years and has only missed 1 year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a FREE and fun evening full of many activities for all family members. More than 500 children are expected to visit with their parents throughout the event.
